Job Description: To obtain price quotations from suppliers based on various purchase requests within the company, to keep track of purchase orders for the company. Performing routine work in the company’s procurement department, including but not limited to daily, weekly and monthly reporting.
Duties will include: All procurement function, such as requesting quotations from suppliers, comparing prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers. Respond to customer and supplier inquiries regarding order status, changes or cancellations. Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
Preparing and submitting quotations to customers, opening, maintaining and closing of Job Files, updating Work in Progress, Costing reports, preparing forecasts.
Minimum Qualifications / experience: Grade 12, Minimum 2 years relevant experience.
Required Competencies: Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise extreme discretion. Analytical and problem solving skills. Decision making skills. Effective in verbal, listening and written communication skills. Computer Skills including the ability to operate computerised accounting (Pastel Evolution), Spreadsheet (excel) programs at a highly proficient level. Stress and Time management skills. Must maintain a fast past, work in a team & severe pressure.
