PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION
To market and sell all Group companies products in the Industrial/ Mining sector
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Business Management diploma
- Engineering degree (Preferably Mechanical) advantageous
10 KPI’s
- Meeting annual sales T/O budgets
- Meeting annual sales GP Budgets
- Expanding client base
- Up to date knowledge of market and competitor trends and activities (Market Intelligence)
- Submitting timeously accurate Sales reports
- Customer satisfaction and Service
- Contributing and following the ASL (Approved Suppliers List) for the better of the company
- Cost saving – reducing personal operating costs
- Product and application knowledge
- Improving Time keeping to increase productivity
Operations & Responsibilities:
- Customer liaison and service
- Assisting with quotations and tenders
- Following up on outstanding quotations and tenders
- Liaising with QC/QA department on special requests and specifications
- Following up on backorders and deliveries
- General sales and activity reporting
- Grow the client base
- Servicing existing and new client base
- Meeting monthly Sales / GP Targets
- Technical product promotion to end-users
- Negotiating on sales and orders
- Gathering and Analysing market intelligence
- Any other role to further the goals of the company
- Constantly implementing various tasks to increase Quotation/ Order conversion rate
Financial:
- Demonstrate knowledge of general concepts of financial planning, budgeting and forecasting and how they interrelate
- Understand and weigh up financial implications of propositions
- Ensure effective utilization of Company/ financial resources
- Adopt corrective measures/actions to ensure alignment of budget to financial resources
- Constantly seek and implement cost saving measures
Quality:
- Continuous involvement with Quality Department to ensure conformance to Specification and Standard
- Effectively communicating and arranging customer requirements timeously with the QC/QA department
Specifications:
- Know and understand specifications indicated on RFQ’s applicable to the products offered
- Awareness of Specification changes and or updates at end users
- Asses and advise on the Impact and implications of the various specifications
- Training on Specifications to relay information and impact of non-compliance
- Constantly do self-training on own and competitor products to know and understand the differences
- Specifying the full product basket of all clients
