Job Summary
Our client in the Nasrec area in Johannesburg is looking for a QC Analyst to prioritise, sample, test and release raw & packaging materials, intermediates, and finished products to strict timescales, in order to support the business requirements. Supporting all Quality activities.
Requirements:
- National Diploma or Certificate in a scientific/ natural science discipline (with strong chemistry/ Food Technology /Biochemistry content).
- Training and experience in Quality (ISO 9001) and Food Safety (HACCP) principles
- Demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s).
- Proficient in basic chemistry principles and testing.
- Proficient in use of basic analytical equipment (Lovibond, NIR, GC, etc.) and the testing of finished products
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Quality and Food Safety principles.
- Experience of working in a GMP environment.
- Good IT skills e.g. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Credible and confident communicator (written and verbal) at all levels.
- Highly customer focused and passionate about delivering excellent customer service.
- Ability to achieve and maintain high standards with meticulous attention to detail.
- First class planning, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment, adhering to strict deadlines/timescales.

Responsibilities:
- Sampling and testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products using company approved methods, and instrumental techniques as appropriate.
- Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, escalate, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release.
- Investigate or report questionable test results.
- Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms
- Preparing Quality reports, including analytical reports (for raw materials and finished products), Certificates of Analysis (CoA) (for finished products)
- Calibrating, verifying, and maintaining analytical equipment, as and when required
- Ensuring that procedures are carried out carefully and accurately to eliminate errors.
- Conducting Quality audits and inspections, as and when required.
- Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.
- Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop the positive progressive culture within the organisation.
- Observing and complying with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
- Observing and complying with company Health and Safety Policies.
- Observing and complying with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Undertaking any other duties, either for this department or any other department within the business, which may be requested by the Line Manager, for which training and/or an explanation has been provided and understood.
