Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the team
- Review the work of and provide guidance to the accountant(s) & Junior Accountant(s) whenever required.
- Assist in the management of all accounting procedures and systems used by the organisation.
- Assist in achieving maximum profitability and growth in accordance with organisation plans.
- Assist in the management of recruitment of team members, subject to agreed criteria.
- Effectively delegate and assign tasks to team members, monitor and control workload of team members as well as chargeable hours
- Attend clients’ meetings and have direct interaction with clients as and when required.
- Assist the MD by providing daily support as and when requested.
Accounting duties:
- Responsible of an allocated clients portfolio.
- Respective to the allocated portfolio –
- Prepare financial statements and ensure that same are fully compliant with legal and statutory requirements.
- Prepare tax returns and other statutory returns within deadlines.
- Other cognate duties.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in leading a team.
- Proven ability of expressing technical and complex issues, both in writing and orally.
- Result driven, ie, strive to make things happen and able to take decisions in the absence of the MD in line with the firm’s rules & policies.
- Holds or has substantially completed ACA or ACCA qualification or equivalent.
- +8 years’ experience in preparing client accounts would be desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS would be an advantage.
- At ease in working with different accounting & payroll software.
