Job Summary
Outsourced organisation with focus on the employee benefits sector urgently seeks to appoint a Business Analyst.
Purpose:
Analysis and design of technology-driven solutions resulting in requirements specifications, process modelling, functional specifications, technical specifications, and testing of solutions where required. The Analyst may complete other client-specific deliverables to optimise the business, e.g., policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General Administration
- Adhere to company group policies
- Respond to and update support tickets and project-related tickets
- Submit timesheets daily
Financial management
- Prepare and provide input to estimates for work orders/quotations
Process
- Adhere to SDLC processes and procedures
- Understands the requirements of Change Control
- Adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 principles, and other ISO’s as they are adopted
Supervision
- May be responsible for staff supervision and mentoring
- Business and Systems requirement analysis
- Liaises with a customer representative and acts as the consultant interface between the customer, developer, IT, etc.
- Responsible for managing the production of business, system, and user documentation for the system at an enterprise level
- Responsible for all
Teamwork
- Actively participates in/hosts and minutes JAD sessions and workshops
- Actively participates in/hosts demo sessions
- Any other reasonable task assigned with regards to system development, maintenance and support training
- May operate under supervision

Technical
- Convert business requirements into functional specifications using available and approved tools and techniques that sufficiently and effectively convey the necessary information to developers and other stakeholders
- Ensures technical and functional standards are observed
- Deals with requests for enhancements to business processes
- Establish document test scenarios that will adequality verify the correct functioning of the application/software
- Execute test scenarios and ensure that the software/application meets the quality expectations
- Ensure all defects identified during the testing are communicated to the developer for fixing and then retesting until no defects are present
- Solicit Stakeholder’s business requirements (both functional and non-functional) through appropriate and effective means, e.g., document review, etc., while conforming to agreed processes
- Understands and interprets technical system specifications
- Facilitate user acceptance testing with the customer where required
Educational Qualifications
- Degree/ Diploma in Business Analysis
- Deemed Industry Experience
Experience
- 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Business Analysis or Systems Analysis, focusing on delivering technology-driven solutions
- End-to-end project involvement in delivery and accountability thereof would be advantageous
- Worked in a multi-project environment
- Active involvement in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge and experience within the employee benefits or financial services environment are advantageous
- Running JAD sessions
Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of the System Development Lifecycle and methodologies
- Strong understanding of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Understanding and experience with the Omni Sunguard system are advantageous
- Wireframing and mapping of Business Processes
