Job Summary
An exciting opportunity exists for an Associate to join a leading consulting firm working on high-impact initiatives across Africa's financial ecosystem.
The successful candidate will contribute to strategy development, research, policy design, programme implementation, and stakeholder engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening digital financial systems and expanding the adoption of digital payments across the continent.
This role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from analytical problem-solving and strategic planning to implementation support and client engagement. It is ideally suited to an analytically strong, commercially aware professional who is passionate about financial inclusion and the practical development of digital financial services.
About the Role
While access to financial services continues to increase across Africa, the adoption and everyday use of digital payments remains a significant challenge. This role supports the design and implementation of solutions that improve the accessibility, trust, and usability of digital financial services for individuals, businesses, and governments.
The Associate will work alongside senior consultants and project teams to deliver strategic and operational solutions that contribute to inclusive and sustainable financial ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
• Lead specific project workstreams from inception through to completion.• Manage project activities, timelines, and deliverables to ensure quality and timely execution.
• Guide and support analysts in conducting research, analysis, and project-related activities.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to inform strategic recommendations and policy development.
• Produce high-quality reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Support the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of digital payment initiatives and financial inclusion programmes.
• Contribute to impact assessments and programme performance reviews.
Business Development
• Lead the preparation and submission of proposals, concept notes, and business development opportunities.• Coordinate proposal inputs across teams and manage submission timelines.
• Support solution design and the development of client-focused recommendations.
• Assist in identifying new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Develop presentations and supporting materials for prospective clients and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, regulators, financial institutions, and other key stakeholders.• Coordinate stakeholder consultations, workshops, and project meetings.
• Support client engagement activities and contribute to relationship management efforts.
• Facilitate collaboration across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve project objectives.
People Management
• Provide mentorship and support to analysts and junior team members.• Review work outputs and provide constructive feedback.
• Participate in staff development initiatives and performance discussions.
• Contribute to internal working groups including Recruitment, Partnerships, Communications, and Public Relations.
Requirements
• Master's Degree in Economics, Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in:
- Management Consulting
- Digital Financial Services
- Payments Ecosystems
- Financial Inclusion Programmes
- Strategy, Research, or Advisory Services
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Excellent research and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience developing reports, presentations, and client-facing deliverables.
