Accounting Assistant
My client based in Midrand is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join their team. This is a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Administer proper coding and manage invoices and document all processes and systems accomplished.
- Monitor all account payable checks, prepare
- invoices for all and prepare updates on all accounts accomplished
- Maintain files on all account receivables and update records as required accomplished
- Manage monthly journals, update entries and maintain sub ledger for fixed assets accomplished
- Perform research, reconcile all bank accounts and resolves all issues in processes accomplished
- Ensure efficient client services and provide administration support

- Maintain all files and invoices accomplished
- Assist accountants and prepare all financial data and reports accomplished
- Ordering of office supplies and monthly groceries etc accomplished
- Submit annual returns and adhoc changes on CIPC accomplished
- Coordinate with management and provide operational support accomplished
- Assist with general HR and Accounting processes and admin accomplished
- Collate excel reports for billing accomplished
- Capturing of invoices and bank statements on Pastel accomplished
- Assist with VAT / EMP / Tax returns Knowledge
- Capture of printer readings and generate reports accomplished
- Check supplier invoices against PO’s accomplished
- Executed all correspondence in a professional manner and in line with standards and protocols of the organisation accomplished
- Punctual follow-up and feedback on client queries
Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in finance department or similar
- Grade 12 / Matric with Math's Literacy NSC (National Senior Certificate) achievement level 5 (60% - 69% = adequate achievement)
- NQF Level 6 Accreditation (Accounting diploma)
- Beneficial NQF Level 7 Accreditation (Accounting degree)
- Computer literate – Office Package
- Excel proficient
- Numeracy
- Excellent Typing Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accounting software packages
- Understanding of Software Applications
- Strong Administration experience is a necessity
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to form long term working relationships
