Excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a medium size assurance and accounting firm in the Northern Suburbs. The candidate must have the ability to attend to all tax compliance matters in the firm and will be reporting to the Tax Manager.

The firm provides reliable and professional auditing, accounting, taxation, secretarial and related administration services and advice to small and medium-sized businesses, individuals and larger organisations throughout South Africa.

The firm’s client portfolio includes various industries and types of entities, ranging from salaried individuals to companies with turnovers in excess of R 1 billion per year. They audit large groups and are actively involved in tax planning. The firm is registered at the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) which allows the firm to perform high level assurance services such as audits and independent reviews.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Tax Administration and dispute resolution.
• Submission of tax returns.
• Provisional tax returns.
• Lodging of disputes, requests for reasons, penalty waivers, dividends taxes, etc.
• Tax calculations and reconciliations.
• Budget management in respect of client engagements.
• Prepare proposal documents/ letters of engagement.
• Review of work.
• Build and maintain client relationships.
• Grow client portfolio.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Provide technical assistance to staff members (where required).
• Maintain excellent client relationships.
• Assist with tax related research.
• Assist with the tax consulting and tax advice services.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in finance, taxation or relevant field.
• Registered as tax practioner will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years tax administration experience.
• Computer literate – proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• Familiar with audit software – able to navigate through and use Caseware.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Remuneration:

• R22,500 to R30,000 pm cost to company, benefits included.
• Company provident/group insurance contributions at 12.5%.
• Performance based bonuses.
