About the position:
Our client is seeking to appoint a capable and skilled professional to fulfil the function of Drafting and Submissions Specialist within the Operation Support department.

Responsibilities:
New and revised special rules:
- Log any new and revised special rules onto the Rules workflow and update the various steps on the workflow
- Draft complex new special rules using the employer participation application (EPA) and installation summary for onward submission to Trustees and Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)
- Draft new special rules and revised special rules and supporting documents for onward submission to Trustees and FSCA
- Draft complex revised special rules using the employer’s resolution and the current registered special rules
- Send draft to consultant for checking
- Once the draft is received back from the consultant, send to principal officer and trustees for approval
- Submit the signed special rules to the FSCA and notify consultant
- Effectively log all FSCA queries and notify consultant
- Check all responses to the FSCA queries drafted before final submission to the FSCA
- Respond timeously to any FSCA queries and notify consultant when a response is submitted
- Notify supervisors, administrators and employee benefit consultants once FSCA approval is received
- Respond timeously to consultants on internal queries and follow-ups
Submission of other rules (no drafting):
- Log any new rules onto the Rules workflow and update the various steps on the workflow
- Submit amendments, consolidated Rules to FSCA and notify consultant
- Ensure that any FSCA queries are sent to the consultant immediately for timeous response to the FSCA
- Submit response to the FSCA
- Follow up with the FSCA if outside of their SLA
Submission other than other rules (no drafting):
- Valuation reports, responses to FSCA, valuation exemption applications
- Appointment letters (valuator, auditor, and principal officer)
- Extension applications (Form 1) and response to FSCA queries in respect of annual financial statements – EB Accounting will submit the actual annual financial statements to the FSCA
- Section 7B Exemptions
- Section 26 Trustee applications
PFA Complaints:
- Dealing with and responding to member/PFA complaints
- Managing the PFA complaints register
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Relevant Degree/Diploma with specialization in law (e.g., LLB) or Pension Fund Law
- Postgraduate law qualification preferred
- CFP advantageous
- Past experience (5-7yrs) in employee benefits consulting and operations, and interfacing with boards of trustees
- Exceptional knowledge of the legislation governing retirement funds, especially the Pension Funds Act.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
