Job Summary
Our client is looking for an Accountant with accountability for all financial aspects. They encourage students around the African continent to register with them and encourage individuals to work towards their goals. The accountant will be looking at financial and statutory reporting and measurement, forecasting, tax and legal compliances and budget management across all areas. The offices are located in Johannesburg. They will be reporting back to the Group Financial Manager. - Manage all accounting transactions
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Publish financial statements in time
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Honours in Accounting
- CA(SA)
- Completed Articles
- 2 years post articles experience
- Exposure within a financial environment
- Caseware experience is essential
- Experience in implementing new systems and procedures in a group environment
Skills & Competencies:
- Good understanding of business and related risks
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must have sound written and communication skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Be able to analyze, interpret and report financial statements
