Duties:
Managing of the finance department
Management of daily payments
Monthly review and analysis of accounts for various entities
Manage the preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and monthly management accounts
Management of deadlines
Some core accounting duties that require a higher technical understanding or are confidential in nature
Annual review and compilation of budgets and forecasts
Accounting software support to users
Manage and roll out of various projects
Review monthly and annual tax submissions
Ad-hoc reviewing of creditors recons and monthly payroll
Identification and managing of risks
Managing of annual audit
Preparation for annual audit and review of audit files
Review of annual financial statements for the various entities and ensure the annual financial statements are compliant with IFRS and Companies Act requirements
Ensure compliance to all financial legislative and regulatory requirements
Manage relationships with key stakeholders in the group
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
Matric (Grade 12)
Honours in Accounting or Finance from a reputable university
Experience:
Completed 3 years articles in a reputable audit firm
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Finance Manager position
At least 2 years’ experience managing a team
Skills & Competencies:
Own transport to and from work and valid driver’s licence
Ability to manage themselves and their time
Self-starter who requires little to no managing
Strong attention to detail
Natural leaderships skills
Demonstrates the ability to analyse and resolve problems.
Ability to prioritise work schedules and meet departmental deadlines
Exceptional communication skills (read, write, and speak)
A high degree of integrity and confidentiality required
Analytical and technical skills
Progressive, innovative and an “out-of-the-box” thinker
