Job Summary
To manage the full Accounting function
Qualifications:
- Bcom or relevant Financial Degree
Experience:
- 3-5 years exp in Financial Accounting
- Experience in an accounting package Pastel Partner / Pastel Evolution is critical
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles & attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficient in MS Office / Advanced Excel Skills.
- Knowledge of Statutory returns and payments
KEY DUTIES
Audit
Liaise with auditors with regards the required information and reconciliations
Communicate with auditors on deadlines
Communicate with internal team on audit progress and issues
Management Accounts
- Review of cashbook
- Trade debtor and trade creditor reconciliations
- Other debtors and creditors reconciliations
- Review and depreciation journals for fixed asset register
- Payroll reconciliations
- Agreeing inter-company balances
- Review of expense allocation
- Review of property system balances to accounting system
- Review of supporting information to property system
- Recognition of necessary accruals
- Management and reconciliation of loan accounts
- Monthly standard and ad hoc journals
Payments
- Managing all creditor details in the banking system
- Reviewing all payments and support loaded by financial clerk
- Cashflow management
Taxation
- Monthly VAT Reason-ability and reconciliation
- Submission of monthly VAT Return
- Preparation of Provisional Tax and Income Tax Calculation
- Submission of Provisional Tax and Income Tax Return
- Monthly reporting on tax compliance
Other
- Preparation (in communication with resort) of quarterly budgets
- Guidance and training to financial clerk
- To be able to communicate well with the resort
