Bookkeeper
Location: Amanzimtoti
Our client is seeking to employ an experienced bookkeeper. The successful candidate must have prior experience of working within an accounting company and be able to work independently.
Knowledge of submitting income Taxes for Individuals and Companies is Mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete a broad variety of bookkeeping and accounting tasks
- Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recordation of journal entries, asset depreciation schedules, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and reconciliation of bank statements
- Strong accounting skills, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing backup, journal entries and all bookkeeping through financial statement preparation.
- Coding invoices with the proper general ledger information
- Checking invoices to ensure that it meets the requirement of SARS
- Capturing of credit card statements
- Capturing of petty cash accounts
- Preparing and sending invoices to customers and ensuring they are entered into the proper accounts in the accounting system
- Reconciling monthly bank statements, researching and correcting any discrepancies.
- Entering information into and reconciling basic general ledger accounts
- Preparing detailed journal entries and month-end reconciliation
- Running general ledger trial balance at the end of the month prior to closing the books to ensure accounts are balanced
- Preparing and submitting statutory returns
- Must have excellent clerical and administrative qualities
