Our client based in Port Elizabeth has a Manufacturing Operation position available in their organization.
Requirements:

- High standard of oral and written communication to converse at all levels within the organization as well as with inter-group personnel, customers and suppliers.
- Good knowledge in over all fabrication.
Overall Objectives:
- Responsible for planning the manufacturing and delivering of all equipment’s as per time schedule.
- Responsible for rolling out strategy for manufacturing.
- Project fabrication and assembly resource planning and effective usage of them.
- Assist with proposal and project planning for manufactured tasks.
Key Result Areas:
- Periodic assessment of vendor in line with quality and schedule.
- Timely rolling out progress reports to project department for necessary updating.
- Allocation of jobs to fabrication team and assembly team.
- Maintain record for claim management if any due to poor fabrication.
- Co-ordination with other departments for timely delivering inputs to supplier.
- Responsible for Raw Material inspection such as SS/MS sheets and I Beams / C-channel etc. and allocating the laydown area for storage.
- Housekeeping of outside yard, assembly and fabrication workshops.
- Responsible for controlling drawings/documents.
- Stage inspection and final inspection reports preparations.
- Weekly progress report need to send to PFS Conveyor Manager.
- Logistic of fabricated material and its shipment.
- Painting inspection of equipment.
- On time delivery of items to project site as per the time plan.
- Promote total quality.
- Vendor assessment for manufacturing.
- Responsible for General and Project parts storages.
- Ensure that manufactured items are produced to acceptable quality standards.
- The employee is responsible for the day to day sufficient running of the workshop.
- Ensure that workshop staff are using their time effectively and efficiently.
- Check and inspect that all tools are available and maintained in the correct place and that all equipment is in suitable working condition.
- Advise all new and existing staff of company policies and procedures and adherence to these policies and procedures at all times.
- To work from a technical drawing to a high standard.
- To devise solutions to technical challenges / problems within the workshop.
- To manage the workshop on a day-to-day basis supervising and supporting the work of the team and discuss any issues or concerns that need to be addressed.
- General administration for personnel and record keeping.
- During busy periods, the employee is required to undertake manufacturing tasks and assist the through put of work through the workshop.
- The employee is responsible for the quality of the work carried out and performs incoming and outgoing inspection on all parts and assemblies or delegates that work.
- Daily attendance and sickness records have to be kept alongside individual records of what work is carried out and on which projects.
General:
- Produce progress reports.
- Liaise with buyer/project manager if delivery problems occur.
- Assist with project and contract planning for manufactured tasks.
- Investigate cost saving ideas.
- Prepare manufacturing specifications in conjunction with engineers.
- Assist buyer to obtain quotations for manufactured items.
- Assess supplier quotations and recommend supplier.
- Investigation and resolution of quality problems.
- Attend project meetings as required.
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by immediate Manager/Director.
