Job description:Reporting Structure: HOD EngineeringThe successful candidate will be required to fulfil the job as summarised below, but not limited to:Technical & administrative management of the Department within approved project budgets and schedules.Preparation of project standards, engineering and technical specification and maintenance of engineering working steps.Plan and develop the civil and structural engineering man hour budget; review and assist in preparation of project budget and schedule; co-ordinate with procurement, construction and planningEnsure the execution of deliverables in accordance with the quality requirements and applicable codes and standards.Provide liaison between Project team/ clients/ contracts/ authorities/ licensor inter alia acting as a catalyst in anticipating and overcoming problems.Report on project progress to HOD Engineering.Perform regular updates of departmental manpower plan and provide input to HOD Engineering for capacity planning .Execute cost effective estimates for professional services.Implement and grow Company`s values particularly regarding diversity, compliance and inclusiveness.Liaise with other high value centres within the Group.Encourage the team work sharing with other high value centres.Responsible for the skills matrix, identification of training needs and development of the departmental staff.Succession planning and mentorship of the team.Recruitment of engineers and drafting resources.Development of systems and software to increase the departmental efficiency and accuracy and to obtain consistency between projects.Compliance with internal quality system.Compliance with legal and code requirements.Communication with the department and feedback from Management meetings .The introduction and development of new ideas is an important aspect of the job to enhance design, services, policies and procedures.Scope of Work:To act as technical leader, expert and mentor in the Civil and Structural department. This includes technical responsibility for civil engineering input related to proposals and contracts.Ensure that designs and technical solutions are produced in a professional and cost effective manner, to high standards.Have engineering integrity and comply with legal and industry requirements.To keep abreast of all projects executed within the department by performing regular team meetings and maintaining the project dashboard and manpower resourcing tool.Education:The candidate must be in possession of a BSc/BEng Civil Engineering degree and be registered as a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. Work Experience:Should have a minimum of 15 years` relevant design experience.Experience in Oil and Gas Environment is essential.
