Marine Electronics Engineer required in Angola
This position offers the candidate the opportunity to work on board vessels and ships in general (trailers, fishing grounds, ferries, speedboats, cruise ships, merchant ships, and military vessels), which have a wide range of maritime equipment to which we provide support and assistance, such as Radars, ECDIS, Automatic Pilots, Satellite Communication Systems, CCTV, Gyro Compasses, Inercial Systems and AIS.
Responsibilities
- Ability to work under and without supervision, prepare and foresee the materials and tools necessary for the services to be performed, strong dynamism and ability to solve problems, interpretation of schemes, ability to interpret and correct use of the solutions suggested by the manufacturer's manuals and therefore the commissioning of knowledge acquired throughout academic training for electronic circuits;
- Install , repair and maintains marine radio and navigation systems;
- Inspect and test electronic equipment, components and assemblies using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, or other necessary electronic testing tools and equipment;
- Carry out radio inspections according to the authorities and classification
- Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment, assemble yours with ponentes following the manuals and diagrams;
- Update / load software from manufacturers;
- Prepare clear and complete service reports (evaluated and scored internally and externally);
- Transmit confidence and willingness to the proposed work;
- Autogare of the time vs. service vs. quoted price, to decrease costs for the customer and for the internal profitabilization of the technician in other services.
- Financial management related to advances of amounts, which will meet the expenses related to services, obeying the limits tabled and subject to monthly accountability.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering (preferably at The Nautical Higher School);
- GOC Certificate /GMDSS;
- experience in the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of Furuno navigation systems and appliances.
- Availability for national (Angola) and international (sub-Saharan African countries);
- Driving
- Fluent English (written and spoken);
- Computer skills;
- Physical fitness for functions to perform.
