Job Summary
Our client, a leading company in the Heavy Steel Construction industry, is seeking a Junior Draughtsman to join their engineering and fabrication team in Rustenburg. The ideal candidate will have strong technical drawing skills, experience in AutoCAD and Tekla, and a keen eye for detail within structural and SMPP environments.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Draughting
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Tekla
- Prepare fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement drawings
- Update and revise drawings according to engineering changes
Structural & SMPP Detailing
- Create detailed drawings for structural steel, platework, and piping
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards and client specifications
Workshop & Project Support
- Assist workshop teams with drawing clarifications
- Provide support during fabrication and installation phases
- Ensure accurate document control and drawing version management
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and workshop supervisors
- Attend project meetings when required
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings to support project schedules
Minimum Requirements
Technical Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Experience in Tekla Structures (essential)
- Ability to produce fabrication?ready drawings
Experience
- 1–3 years’ experience as a Draughtsman
- Experience in structural steel, SMPP, or fabrication environments (advantageous)
Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and document?management ability
