Senior Engineer needed in the Northern Cape
BDegree / BTech Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Government Certificate of Competence (Mines and Works) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Code B/EB Driver’s Licence

Minimum of eight (8) years operational Engineering (Appointed Section Engineer) experience within the mining environment
Minimum of three (3) years Project / Middle Management Experience
(Total of eight years’ experience required, of which some can run concurrent)
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of internal project processes
Knowledge of beneficiation and metallurgical processes
Management (Proven management skills, Lead multi-disciplinary teams, Advanced planning and organising skills, Budgeting and budget control & Sound project management skills)

Sound technical insight
Maintenance – broad experience of heavy equipment
Ability to build relationships with external clients and contractors.
Legislation (Knowledge of all relevant acts and legislation & Knowledge of ISO requirements)
Diagnostic /Quality (Root cause analysis, Trend analysis & Attention to detail)

Business acumen
Change management.
Discipline specific software and reporting tools (Advanced user)
Conflict handling
Engineer equipment (Asset management, EAMS business processes, Condition monitoring & Relevant original equipment manufacturer knowledge)
Maintenance systems (Working knowledge of equipment performance management, Failure behaviour & Critical analyses)
Management (Employee management, Adherence to labour agreements, Budget and cost control, Mentorship, Contract management and cost estimation & Diversity management)

Manage and coordinate all Site Engineering services and project activities to ensure plant and equipment optimization, which includes but not limited to:
