Control System Specialist needed in the Northern Cape.
NQF Level 6 (Supply Chain Management / Engineering / Accounting and Finance or equivalent).
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (Essential).
B Tech/ B Degree (NQF Level 7) in Electrical Engineering / Electronic / Information Technology (Recommended).
Valid Driver’s License & Own Vehicle.

8 Years minimum relevant operational technology industrial experience in a mining or plant environment, of which two (2) years must be in a Specialist capacity (Essential).
Experience as Material Requirement Planner – 3 to 5 years (total 5).
MUST have MRP experience.
MRP reporting experience – 3 years.
Supply Chain or Procurement experience – 2 years.
Experience of JDE / SAP (planning module, supply chain module) – 3 years.
Able to analyse information.
Able to manage conflict (this position needs to challenge Engineering regarding redundant stock, and this does create conflict & difficult conversations).
Good reporting writing skills in Excel. Must be able to create reports from raw data.
Configure & distribute basic plant / process information reports to all stakeholders.
Understanding of Operational Technology (OT) systems landscape.
Systems thinking ability.
Understanding of the OT systems landscape and interfacing to other essential systems, including PPMIS (Mine Suite), LIMS (StarLIMS) & Information Technology.
Crushing, Washing & screening, Material handling, Beneficiation (Jigging, WHIMS & Cyclones) and Water recovery flow lines & Sampling Plants.
Understand unit operations and interfacing with vendor packages e.g., Gyratory / Cone / HPGR Crushers, Stackers, BW Reclaimers, Thickeners & Loadout stations.
Compilation & implementation of control philosophies.
Project coordination and management skills.
Understand the interfacing and integration of different systems.
Use of diagnostic tools for different systems.
Advanced fault-finding ability (systems thinking, route cause analysis & problem-solving techniques).
Follow industry 4.0 technology trends to leverage new technologies applicable, typically data science and predictive analytics, AI, ML & cloud computing.
System administration & security
System maintenance & availability (including backups and disaster recovery, life-cycle management of control systems assets & change management)
Customer relations & services.
Process, system & plant optimisation (address deviations and underlying process control issues and seize opportunities for improvements & optimization).
Drive improvement / technology / optimisation projects by applying sound project management principles.
Improve OT Cybersecurity posture.

Plant Historian – AVEVA / Wonderware InSQL, Client Tools & Insight.
AVEVA / Wonderware Information Server.
AVEVA InTouch Access Anywhere.
Networks & Network management tools (including HiVision, BC Commander) (Advanced user)
FT AssetCentre and FT Analytics.
VBA, VB, C++, Python etc. (Visual studio).
Advanced SCADA scripting.
Able to write basic & advanced SQL queries.
PLC programming (Ladder, SFC, FDB).
Allan Bradley VSD’s – Powerflex (Advanced user).
VSD’s & Electronic overload relays.
Setup parameter setting & interfacing (Single and Multi-drive).
Able to setup network switches (Hirschmann, Rajant, Stratix) (Advanced user).
Interfaces & protocols (OPC DA / HAD / UA, Modbus, MQTT).
Network topologies & configurations.
Server setup and configuration, both physical & virtual machines (Blade server environment with VMWare vSphere).
Patch and endpoint protection management.
