Job Summary
Our client in the Automotive industry based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Procurement Team Leader.
Responsibilities:
- Candidate would need to lead a team of buyers.
- Creating Purchase Requisitions or Purchase Order’s on SAP (when necessary).
- Expediting for both local and foreign orders.
- Providing support with project logistics budgets/ costing and obtaining approvals.
- Preparing costs comparisons on various projects for orders required to ensure best bid is obtained/ selected.
- Working closely with Finance department on open invoices.
- Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
- Liaise with Stores department to ensure all products arrive in · good working condition.
- Crafting negotiation strategies and closing deals with optimal terms.
- Presenting quarterly saving report using the BI Tool, to be to the Managing Director.
- Sourcing both new parts and suppliers when required.
- Loading New Suppliers, checking Credit Applications and conducting SARS Vat Verifications.
- Conducting Supplier analysis on a 6 monthly bases – to ensure continuous improvement (Supplier Audits, supplier rating, classifications etc.)
- Handing all supplier queries/disputes – quality issues, pricing, poor workmanship
- Drafting and issuing of official letters relating to disputes, supplier audits etc.
- Contract Management – Setting up Negotiation contracts, supply of good agreements, fixed price structures.
- Developing purchasing strategies and implementing new purchasing processes.
- Ensures all policies and procedures are adhered to internally.
- Assisting with company BEE Status and yearly accreditation.
- Good knowledge of the SAP system.
- Execute any other duties as reasonably requested by Management.
Experience:
- Degree / Diploma in Purchasing or Supply chain.
- 3 – 5 Years’ experience in in Procurement.
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
- Identify alternative suppliers to fill present and future needs.
- MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word and purchasing software.
- SAP or similar ERP systems experience advantageous.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Resourceful organisational skills.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Drivers Licence.
