Our client in the Automotive sector, based in East London is currently looking to employ an experienced Quality Manager.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quality.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Quality Assurance (Plastics experience an added advantage).
• Strong knowledge in Quality Management Systems applicable to the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in Advanced Quality Planning is required, including strong proficiency with the AIAG Advanced Quality.

• Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem-solving methodology is required.
• Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required. Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable.

• Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
• Proficient in use of a computer and common office software is required (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Duties and Responsibilities Including but not limited to:

• Ensure compliance to all applicable quality Customer-specific systems and requirements.
• Ensure compliance of all quality controlled documentation, document change activities and record retention requirements.
• Lead and promote effective problem solving/corrective action activities for the plant.
• Assist in the preparation, maintenance, review and submission of quality deliverables.
• Oversee the Layered Audit and Product Audit program including notifying audit team to conduct audits, ensuring non-conformances are properly documented and closed out per required timing.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships resulting in excellent customer satisfaction.
• Conduct all work activities following company safety policies and procedures.
• Manage ISOTS Systems/Audits, liase with auditors and ensure execution of corrective action when required.
• Perform periodic audits on Quality processes for raw materials at external suppliers locations.
• Responsible for obtaining and documenting Product Specifications on all products.
• Manage and maintain quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
• Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
• Supervise internal and external technical staff in performing all testing.

• Write technical and management system reports.
