Manages the sustainable site infrastructure comprising of maintenance of facilities, generation, delivery and consumption of energy with a focus on reliability, sustainability and continuous improvement of the existing processes to ensure a reduction in the specific energy, emissions and water usage to systematically bring plant closer to a decarbonized facility.
Strong engagement with external company’s, business forum as well as technology advanced suppliers within the renewable energy and water recycling sectors.
Ensuring the maintenance of Energy generation and reticulation systems / equipment and facilities in a satisfactory operating condition by providing for systematic inspection, detection, and correction of incipient failures either before they occur or before they develop into major defects (All factory and office buildings etc)
Ensure equipment standardisation and compliance with Central Engineering Machine and Equipment Specification (MES)
Ensuring the maintenance of buildings and facilities (on plant site)
Ensure adherence and compliance to the Group standards as well as South African legislated Legal requirements relating to all Energy generation and reticulation systems in accordance with OHS Act, ISO, SABS, Building Regulations etc.
Control of Hazardous areas
Establish Energy reticulation priorities for building renovations and plant expansions.
Analyse existing building systems and collect data on building operation, HVAC, electrical, lighting and controls to determine energy usage and efficiency
Development of management systems and technologies to improve building energy efficiency.
Develop and manage the plant Energy budget (MDC and Fixed costs)
Variable cost planning and cost-effective management (Electricity, Steam, Water and Water treatment)
Fixed cost planning and cost-effective management (Energy media, Departmental, R&M)
Energy project cost planning and cost-effective management.
