Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) is a leading diversified natural resources producer represented by over 80,000 people globally at operations across four continents. ERG Africa (ERGA) operates all ERG’s assets on the African continent and has a workforce of 10,000. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), ERGA mines cobalt and copper with its core assets Boss Mining, Frontier Mine and Comide. Chambishi Metals, the Group’s cobalt and copper refinery in Zambia, is an LME-registered cobalt metal and copper cathode producer. Complementing the Group’s existing ventures in the DRC is the development of the Metalkol Roan Tailings Reclamation (RTR) project, a major tailings reprocessing operation and a low-cost hydro-metallurgical facility.
ERGA’s exploration assets include manganese, platinum, bauxite and fluorspar operations in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mali. In order to power ERGA’s operations, the Group is developing a thermal coal project in Mozambique that is due to deliver up to 600MW of power, enough to power the region and provide much needed grid stability.
ERGA controls its own supply chain through its company SABOT, a North-South Corridor logistics specialist. SABOT owns 13 depots with a fleet of more than 450 vehicles and has substantial subcontractor capacity. Its considerable cross-border South African Development Community infrastructure reaches across the DRC, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
