3 Useful Interview Tips

InterviewMany job seekers fail to get a job because they don’t ace the interview. Great news is that those of you struggling with this issue have come to right place. Today Job Mail is providing you with 3  useful interview tips.

Do Research About The Company: Make sure that you conduct proper research about the company that you’re planning to work. If this comes to light during the interview it will score points for you. It shows the interviewer that you did your homework before hand and  that you’re serious about getting appointed in the position that they have available.

Dress Formally: Make sure that you dress appropriately for the interview. Don’t show up at your interview in a jean and t-shirt. Remove your eyebrow and lip piercings and cover up those tattoos that may give the interviewer the wrong impression about your ability to do the job. Shine your shoes and dress formally. Give the interviewer the idea that you’re a professional who is serious about working for their company. It’s important to make a good first impression.

Formulate Answers to Standard Interview Questions: It’s most likely that your potential employer will ask you to tell them about yourself, what your strengths or weaknesses are, why they should hire you and other standard interview questions. Formulate answers to these questions before you go to the interview.

If you’re struggling to answer the standard questions, don’t be scared and don’t lose hope! The amazing folks from Sample Questionnaire recently posted this infographic giving job seekers tips on how to answer most asked job interview questions, check it out below.

Which best answer I can answer with on this one of “how do you see yourself in five years now?”

    • Henno Kruger says:

Hi Alnek – 1. Keep your answer fairly general. 2. Stress your interest in a long-term career. 3. Demonstrate your enthusiasm. Example 1: “I am driven to be the best at what I do and I want to work somewhere where I’ll have opportunities to develop my skills, take on interesting projects, and work with people I can really learn from. Some of the most innovative thinkers in the industry work here and that’s a big reason why I would love to build a career here.” Example 2: “My goal right now is to find a position at a company where I can grow and take on new challenges over time. Ultimately, I’d like to assume more management responsibilities and get involved in product strategy. But most importantly, I want to work for an organization where I can build a career.” Hope this helps 🙂

Nice one Henno. What kind of questions one can ask to their interviewer? I mean apart from asking about their own working experience with the organization. Like what else?

    • Henno Kruger says:

Hey Pawas – You can ask them what the working hours are at the company. Basically anything that you need to know. Try to stay away from salary related questions. I suppose it’s okay to ask if there are any benefits (like pension or medical) if it’s not listed in the vacancy listing / post.
